Greetings in the name of Christ,
What a wonderful time we had last week at our Anniversary service. Indeed, giving thanks is our joy and as such we will continue to do so. We are now in the second Sunday of advent, we continue to wait in anticipation, as we are being prepared for the coming of the Lord into our lives. As we wait, our desire to encounter God is renewed.
The Lectionary this week calls us to anticipate the new order as well as the peace and well-being that we find in God’s new world. As John the Baptist prepared God’s people for the Messiah, so he prepares us in this Advent season, to receive God’s order in a deeper way. This means that who we are, what we think, how we feel, and how we behave are all shaped and formed by the values and God’s reign. Let’s be open to Jesus’ ways and embrace this season of waiting.
A theologian once said Biblically, waiting is not just something we have to do until we get what we want. Waiting is part of the process of becoming what God wants us to be.
Peace be with us all
